What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that are produced naturally by the plant. They are mainly present in the trichomes, located for the most part on the cannabis flower.

Saviez-vous que ?

The cannabis plant contains more than 545 different natural compounds and 113 (the majority) are cannabinoids1.

Their chemical structure is similar to the substances that our brains produce naturally: endocannabinoids. These play multiple roles in our body, especially motor control and cognitive function.

THC and CBD are known as the “major” cannabinoids because they are present in the highest quantity in the plant. However, there are hundreds of “minor” cannabinoids, « mineurs », such as CBG (cannabigerol) or CBN (cannabinol).
